Version truth table
| Build | Released | Source | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| v13.6.0 (r1086) | May 25, 2026 | GitHub: RikkaApps/Shizuku | Official latest — install this |
| 13.6.0.r1091.b844bc49 and similar CI strings | various | Automated build server | Not a release — automated test builds. This is why some sites wrongly list “r1091” as latest |
| “13.7.0-thedjchi” | various | Community fork | Not official — a fork’s own numbering. See the fork decoder guide. |
Why do some sites show a different “latest” version?
Several niche sites and portals list v13.6.0 as “build r1091” or date it July 2025. That build string comes from an automated CI (continuous integration) build — a test artifact from the build server, not an official release. These sites copy one another instead of checking the GitHub releases page.
The rule is simple: the official release is whatever is tagged on the RikkaApps/Shizuku releases page. Right now that’s v13.6.0, build r1086, May 25, 2026. Anything else calling itself “latest” is either a CI artifact or a fork.
How to check your installed version
- Open the Shizuku app on your phone.
- Open the app menu / About screen — the full version string is shown there.
- Compare it with the official releases page. If it doesn’t read v13.6.0 (r1086), you’re not on the official latest.

How to update safely
- Download the official v13.6.0 APK from the official releases page
- Install it over your existing copy — do not uninstall first.
- Open Shizuku and restart the service once.
- Confirm the About screen shows v13.6.0 (r1086).
Installing over the existing app preserves your authorized apps and settings. Uninstalling first would force you to re-authorize everything, so don’t.
Where old versions live
Every official release remains available on the GitHub releases page. Only use an older version for a specific reason (for example, testing on a very old device) — and always get it from the official page, never from a third-party re-upload.
This site does not host APK files; we link to official sources only.
A note on Android 16
v13.6.0 supports Android 16 QPR1, but some devices on Android 16 (API 36) / OneUI 8.5 hit a startup crash caused by strict isolated classloader namespaces for app_process. If that’s you, a community patch fork exists — read the fork decoder guide before switching, and prefer the official build otherwise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 13.7.0 the official latest Shizuku?
No. “13.7.0” builds (for example “13.7.0-thedjchi”) are community forks, not official RikkaApps releases. The official latest is v13.6.0 (r1086).
Why do some sites say the latest version is r1091 or July 2025?
They’re quoting an automated CI build string instead of the official release. CI builds are test artifacts, not releases. Always confirm on the official GitHub releases page.
How do I update Shizuku without losing my settings?
Install the new official APK over the existing app — don’t uninstall first. Your authorized apps and settings are preserved.
Where can I download old Shizuku versions?
On the official GitHub releases page, which keeps every past release. Avoid third-party re-uploads.
Is the Play Store version the latest?
No. The Play Store listing is outdated and lags far behind GitHub. GitHub is the only current official source. See why the Play Store says not available.
How do I verify the APK I downloaded is genuine?
Compare the file name and build number with the official release, and check the hash published on the official GitHub release page before installing.
